Catalans Dragons coach Kevin Walters has revealed half-back Thomas Bosc is likely to be out of action for two weeks.
The 25-year-old playmaker damaged his shoulder during his side's 18-16 Super League victory over Salford on Friday night and Walters has confirmed he is now facing a spell on the sidelines.
"The early diagnosis is he'll be out for a couple of weeks with his shoulder," he said.
However, the Dragons will have captain Greg Bird available for the remainder of the season.
The Australia international was sentenced to at least eight months' jail in June for wounding his girlfriend, but he was released on bail pending an appeal.
A court has now ruled that the appeal hearing will take place in late November, which means Bird, who was suspended for the win over Salford, will be available until the end of the current campaign.
Walters said: "He'll be with us until the commitments here are finished, which is a positive for us.
"We're looking forward to getting him back next week."
Walters is also hoping second rower Sebastien Raguin could have a chance of returning before the end of the campaign.
Raguin has missed the entire season after damaging his knee in pre-season but, while he had been given little hope of featuring this year, Walters believes it may now be a possibility.
"He is starting to do some contact so, depending what happens in the next couple of weeks, he could have an outside chance of getting a game," he said.
"He just needs some miles under his belt in training first."
