Chase: New deal
Castleford have seen off competition for Rangi Chase by handing the in-form New Zealand half-back a new four-year deal.
The 23-year-old was already tied to the Tigers until the end of the 2010 season - however after a stellar first season at the Jungle, Castleford have rewarded Chase, a junior Kiwi, with an improved deal.
"This is a major coup for the club," said Tigers coach Terry Matterson.
"He has been in outstanding form this season and is possibly the form player in the competition and certainly one of the most exciting.
"Rangi covers three positions for us and has certainly come a long way this season and, at only 23, we feel that there is even more to come from him."
Chase has been Castleford's only ever present this season after arriving from NRL side St George Illawarra.
And he is delighted to have signed a new contract.
"I'm very happy to have agreed this deal and really pleased to be staying at the Tigers," he said. "The club is heading in the right direction."
