Hull KR utility player Rhys Lovegrove has committed his future to the club until the end of the 2010 season.

The 22-year-old, who arrived at Craven Park from Australia in 2007, has signed a one-year contract extension with Rovers.

Lovegrove has made 13 appearances so far in Super League this season and remains highly motivated about winning a regular first team spot.

"I'm still a young player and I have improvements to make in my game and I want to make those improvements here at Rovers," he said.

"Sometimes players go off the boil when they sign a long term deal so signing a one-year deal will prevent that from happening.

"I'm backing myself to get another contract next season and it's a good pressure to have and will drive me towards better performances."

Lovegrove looks set to get his next chance to impress when Rovers return to action at Wakefield on Sunday, September 13.
