Greenshields: Happy in Perpignan
France are hoping to be able to pick some of Catalans Dragons' Australian players for the Gillette Four Nations series.
Clint Greenshields, Casey McGuire and Adam Mogg have all spent the past three seasons plying their trade with the Super League club and could now play for their adopted homeland.
The trio are now all waiting and hoping the verdict from the Rugby League International Federation goes in their favour.
Their availability would be a major boost to France national coach Bobbie Goulding ahead of the end-of-season tournament that also includes Australia, England and New Zealand.
"I asked the president today if I can play and he is still not sure whether we have to have been in the country for three years or have actually played there for three years," said Greenshields.
"So we're still waiting on a ruling but I'm keen to play and I think I will be (eligible to). If I can, that's great, if not I'll just have to wait until next year.
"If we all get to play it would be a massive bonus for France and be a big thing for us because I haven't played at national level in Australia. I'd love to play for France and especially against Australia."
Full-back Greenshields recently signed a new long-term contract with the Dragons and is keen to settle down in Perpignan.
"I love the place and I've been trying to learn the language," he added.
"I still have private lessons twice a week and I'm doing my best to pick up everything I can. I wouldn't say it's fluent but I can hold a conversation and it's improving."
France open the Four Nations tournament against England, who beat them 66-12 in Paris earlier this year, at Doncaster on October 23.
