The Welsh Super League side formerly known as the Celtic Crusaders have changed their name to Crusaders Rugby League.

The change of name coincides with their move from Bridgend to Newport, while the club have also opted for a different logo.

Formed as Celtic Crusaders in 2005, the top flight side will now be represented by a modern design that has the Prince of Wales feathers on a St David's cross background.

"We've been working hard on building a club that represents Wales and not just one area," said Crusaders chief executive Mike Turner.

"In the past, we've been associated a little too much with the old Celtic Warriors, adopting half of their name and even using an adaptation of their badge."

The club have made a number of changes since the end of the 2009 season after finishing bottom of the table in their first term in the engage Super League.

Crusaders have a new-look coaching team with Brian Noble, Jon Sharp and Iestyn Harris all making the move to Rodney Parade, while the Welsh outfit also hope to announce a host of new signings later this month.
