Australian champions Melbourne Storm will warm up for the Carnegie World Club Challenge against Harlequins, it has been confirmed.

The three-time NRL grand final winners will tackle Leeds Rhinos at Elland Road in the main event on February 28.

And Brian McDermott's men will take on the Storm at the Twickenham Stoop a week earlier.

Two years ago the Storm played Halifax in a warm-up game while earlier this year Manly Sea Eagles beat Quins 34-26 in preparation for their showdown with the Rhinos.

"If last year's match was anything to go by, I think fans are in for a real treat," said Harlequins coach McDermott.

"Melbourne have several world-class players and I want to win this game and say that we competed with the best in Australia."

Harlequins will bring forward their scheduled round three engage Super League fixture from February 21 to January 30 to fit in the Melbourne match.
