Leeds will have to do without Greg Eastwood for at least 10 weeks after the forward suffered a fractured wrist.

The New Zealand international sustained the injury during the convincing 62-4 win over Harlequins at Headingley last week.

Eastwood arrived at the reigning Super League champions on a three-year deal in December, 12 months later than scheduled after his move was hit by visa difficulties last year.

The former Brisbane Broncos forward has played in all six matches so far for his new team, including the World Club Challenge loss to Melbourne.

Undisplaced fracture

"Greg Eastwood has seen a specialist and investigations have revealed an undisplaced fracture of his wrist," Leeds head physiotherapist Meirion Jones said.

Leeds coach Brian McClennan admitted it was a blow to lose Eastwood, who is expected to be out of action for between 10 and 12 weeks.

"We are all disappointed for Greg, especially as he has settled really well into our squad since his arrival," he said.

"Every team will suffer injuries over the course of a season and we have every confidence in our squad to deal with the challenges we face."

The Rhinos are already without second-rower Carl Ablett for up to 10 weeks after he sustained an ankle injury in the home loss to Castleford on February 5.
