Maguire: Still on compassionate leave
Assistant coach Shaun Wane will take charge of Wigan's Super League contest with Leeds on Friday after the Warriors confirmed Michael Maguire will remain in Australia.
Head coach Maguire returned to his native country last week to be with his ill father, leaving Wane to lead the side during their 46-0 defeat of Hull last Friday.
Wane will continue as acting boss for the trip to Headingley Carnegie but expects Maguire to watch the game from home.
"It is extremely sad the circumstances in which I have taken over and we all wish Michael and his family well at this time," Wane said.
"He was able to watch the game last week from home and was in contact straight after the game and I expect the same this week."
Maguire is expected to return to Wigan in time for their clash with Huddersfield Giants on August 15.
