Catalans Dragons have signed a second Sydney Roosters player in the space of a week with the addition of Lopini Paea on a two-year deal.

The Tonga World Cup captain follows former Roosters coach Trent Robinson to the south of France, just days after Jason Baitieri joined the Dragons.

"Lopini is a strong and powerful front rower with good footwork," said Robinson, who has succeeded Kevin Walters as head coach.

"He has the potential to form a quality partnership with David Ferriol, Remi Casty, Jamal Fakir, Sebastien Martins and Michael Simon."

Christopher Jouffret, the Catalans football director, added: "We have been on the trail of a physical player for several weeks and the fact that Lopini comes from the same club as Trent has facilitated the recent negotiations."

Paea, who has made 93 appearances for Sydney Roosters, said: "I'm delighted to sign with the Dragons. I'm looking forward to meeting the supporters and investing in the Catalan culture."
