Harlequins have announced that back-rower Jason Golden has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

Golden has established himself as a first-team regular during his two seasons with Quins and will now stay at the Twickenham Stoop until the end of the 2012 campaign.

The future of the London-based outfit was recently assured by chairman David Hughes and Golden is keen to see Quins climb the Super League table next year.

"It's a great club with an awesome set of players. I love playing for Harlequins RL and I want to help to take the club to where we deserve to be," he said.

The 24-year-old signed from Wakefield at the beginning of last season and played 18 times during the 2010 campaign.

"It's fantastic news that Jason has re-signed, he is an integral part of the team and a great person to have around the club," assistant coach Rob Powell said.

"I look forward to watching him play next year and getting the best out of him at the top level in Super League."

With the future of the club no longer in doubt, Harlequins expect to re-sign several players in the near future.
