Horne: Signed with Giants
This could be just the challenge I need at this stage of my career, and I'm excited about it
Graeme Horne
Quotes of the week
Former Hull utility player Graeme Horne has been signed by Huddersfield on a one-year contract.
A drastic clean-out at the KC Stadium at the end of last season saw 24-year-old Horne, who made his debut for the Black and Whites at the age of 17, released from his hometown club.
And now Horne, who has experience in a range of positions including centre and second row, is looking forward to making a fresh start at the Galpharm Stadium.
"This could be just the challenge I need at this stage of my career, and I'm excited about it," Horne, who made 101 appearances for Hull, told the Huddersfield Examiner.
"Obviously, it was disappointing to be told by Hull they were letting me go, because I love the club and the eight years there were fantastic.
"But while it was sad to leave, it was great to know a club like Huddersfield were keen to take me on."
Horne is the latest in a string of new signings for Giants including David Fa'alogo, Lee Gilmour, Brad Drew, Scott Grix and Kyle Wood.
And Giants coach Nathan Brown believes Horne's Super League experience will make him a valuable addition to the side.
"At this stage of the year, it's not easy to pick up a player of this quality, so we believe we've done exceptionally well to get him," said Brown.
"For a player of his age to have played so many Super League games proves he must have something going for him.
"And we're now hoping this change of environment will be the catalyst to help Graeme reach his full potential."

Paul Skinner says...
Graeme is a good team player who will always give his all. Unfortunately we had too many players who were in the same mold and Graeme has been allowed to leave.
