Mig four clear in Switzerland

Miguel Angel Jimenez rolled home a 12-foot birdie putt on the final green to ensure he will take a commanding four-shot lead into the final round of the European Masters on Sunday.

The Spaniard, who is looking for his third European Tour victory of the season, finished the day well clear of playing playing partner Edoardo Molinari after a solid 67 left him at 18-under-par.

Molinari (68) also made a clutch putt on the final green, and although his was only for par it ensures he too remains in the hunt for a third Tour win of the year at 14-under.

One shot further back, Italy's Matteo Manassero (69) is in a tie for third with Englishman Steve Webster who produced a splendid 64 to push himself into contention.

Argentine Rafa Echenique and England's Oliver Wilson share fifth on ten-under after rounds of 65 and 67 respectively.

But it is Jimenez who holds all the aces after picking up where he left off on Friday when he shot a sizzling 61 - the lowest round of his European Tour career.

Back in the groove

The Spaniard was quickly back in the groove as he birdied the first, fifth, seventh and eighth to move four clear of Molinari at 18-under-par.

Things could have been even better for the Spaniard as he spurned six-foot birdie opportunities at both the sixth and ninth.

But Molinari refused to go away and, having produced five straight pars after an opening birdie of his own, picked up shots at seven, eight and nine to get himself to within three of Jimenez once again.

Jimenez had his first bogey in 39 holes after he strayed into the trees at the 12th, but on the very next hole Molinari missed the green and dropped his first

shot in 53 holes - since the 14th of his final round at the Johnnie Walker Championship.

The gap returned to three as a result and Manassero, who also birdied seven, eight and nine after a couple of early bogeys, sunk a seven-foot putt on the 13th meant which ensured he was only four back in third.

Jimenez dropped his second shot in three holes as he made a mess of the par-five 14th following a superlative drive that left him well within range of the green standing over his second.

But he bounced back in style with a neat up-and-down at 15 for a birdie and his short-game skills were again to the fore at the par-three 16th as he rescued par following a wayward tee-shot, before he capped a fine display with a closing birdie.
