Tim Clark and Dean Wilson have claimed a share of the lead at the halfway stage of the Canadian Open at St George's.

The pair moved to 10 under after South African Clark shot a six-under 64 to charge up the leaderboard, while a 65 for the second day running kept American Wilson in the hunt heading into the third round.

Overnight leader Brent Delahoussaye dropped back into a share of third place with Steve Wheatcroft after following his tournament-record 62 on Thursday with a one-under 69.

"It's tough to follow up an eight-under-par round," Delahoussaye said on the official PGA Tour website. "So I figured anything under par today would be great for me. I'm pleased with the round."

Clark, 34, enjoyed a blemish-free round featuring three birdies on both the front and back nine, and he admitted to being pleasantly surprised by the benign nature of the narrow, undulating St George's course.

"Driving the fairway is a huge key on the course and I've done that," said Clark.

"I certainly didn't expect to be scoring like that around this course. I felt like it was going to be pretty tough."

Four players are just two shots behind the leaders on eight under - JJ Henry (65), Rob Grube (66), Hunter Mahan (67) and Brock Mackenzie (68) - while defending champion Nathan Green was one of five players at seven under.

Kevin Sutherland was the day's biggest mover, his opening 73 followed by a searing eight-under-par 62 to emulate the first-day achievements of Delahoussaye and move to five under.
