Donald: two shots off the lead
Brandt Snedeker and Jason Day share the lead at halfway point of the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston, while Luke Donald is just two shots off the pace.
Snedeker shot a superb best-of-the-day 64 that featured eight birdies to climb to the top of the leaderboard at 12-under-par and is being kept company by Day, who followed his opening 63 with a 67.
American duo Matt Kuchar (65) and Charley Hoffman (67) are tied for third just one shot behind the leading pair.
Donald is in fifth at ten-under after firing five birdies in a four-under-par 67 that leaves him handily-placed after 36 holes.
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods produced his first bogey-free round since returning to the game following his self-imposed exile earlier in the year.
The world number one posted a timely 65 that ensured he easily survived the halfway cut, having moved into a tie for 29th at five-under.
Woods needs to finish in 57th or better this week to ensure he makes the next event in the FedEx Cup play-off series.
His display on Saturday means he has every chance of doing that and also gave American Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin a timely nudge ahead of his wildcard announcement on Tuesday.
"I figure if I play two good rounds and win the tournament, I should be all right," Woods said after his second round.
"I'm still learning to put this thing together. I'm going to have off days."
World number two Phil Mickelson sunk two monster birdies as he also shot a six-under-par 65 - his lowest round of the year - to move to eight-under overall.
However, it was a disappointing day for both Rory McIlroy and Padraig Harrington in Boston.
McIlroy was just one shot off the lead after the opening round, but followed his 64 with a five-over-par 76 to drop back to two-under overall, while Harrington's 68 was not enough to see him survive the halfway cut.
