Maximum man: Ding
Ding Junhui potted a maximum 147 break at the UK Championship on Tuesday - but still crashed out of the tournament.
The Chinese player lost 9-4 to John Higgins in the second round at Telford, but can at least console himself that he could earn £30,000 from his fantastic break.
This figure is made up of the £5,000 high break prize and a £25,000 bonus for the maximum, although that money will be split if another player records a 147.
The Chinese player was 2-0 down when he achieved his feat and appeared understandably nervous as he approached the landmark.
But, after stepping away from the table, he potted the pink and final black to the delight of the crowd before being congratulated by Higgins.
The Scot then bounced back by winning the next five frames to take a 7-1 lead before Ding won three frames to make it 7-4.
But Higgins took the last two frames to progress at the expense of his opponent, who won the UK title in 2005.
