British starlet Lewis Bridger is looking to grab the wild card for the Grand Prix in Cardiff.
The highly-rated teenager's main aim will be to claim the British Under-21 title at Lakeside later this month - but the Eastbourne Eagle has big ambitions.
Bridger then wants to claim the GP wild card - which will be open to the top ranking rider in the British final, excluding Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris who are already in the GP series.
"I had a good first season in the Elite League and that was it, people expected great things," Bridger told the Speedway Star.
"I was the first person to make the jump straight from Conference League to Elite League but I still got a four-point average.
"I finished last year with a five-point one and this season I've set myself a six-point target.
"I more focused than ever for 2008 and I want to win the Under-21 final at Lakeside.
"But I also hope to finish in the top-three in the senior one [British final] and I would love to get the wild card for Cardiff [the British GP] - that would be brilliant."
