Lakeside Hammers number one Andreas Jonsson has suffered a setback in his comeback from injury.
Jonsson broke his wrist at Belle Vue at the start of the month and he was attempting to make his return for his Polish side Bydgoszcz.
The Hammers have struggled to find capable guests for Jonsson and had hoped he would make his comeback against Peterborough this Friday, which is now a doubt.
"I had to withdraw because I simply couldn't control the bike," said Jonsson after pulling out of the meeting with Gdansk.
"My right hand swelled up, started aching and pulsing in a strange way.
"First I wanted to break for one or two races and then get back for the heat 14 but even despite using an ice spray nothing helped. Looks like my injured wrist needs a bit more time."
