Coventry Bees booked their place in the Craven Shield semi-finals on Monday as Lakeside Hammers were confirmed finalists.
Lakeside and Poole Pirates had already made sure of their progress to the last three after winning the Eastern and Southern sections respectively.
Coventry travelled to Belle Vue Aces on Monday knowing what needed to be done - in that they had to avoid being beaten by 18-points and they succeeded as they went down just 50-41.
The Aces did well with Charlie Gjedde (13) and Jason Crump (12+2) continuing their good form whilst Billy Forsberg showed up well with paid 11.
But Coventry - who have had an in-different start to the new season, performed well with Billy Janniro (14+1) particularly in fine form. Chris Harris (9+2) and Simon Stead (9) both produced good back-up.
Coventry now face Poole in the one Craven Shield semi-final - with the winner facing Lakeside in the final.
