Karol Zabik's future at Poole looks anything but certain after he broke his shoulder blades and a couple of ribs.
The Pole has already missed five Pirates meetings this year, a third in total, and there was talk of his departure from Wimborne Road.
Now after being sidelined after crashing in Sweden - Poole will now be assessing their options.
They can use rider-replacement for Zabik in the short-term but there could be big changes after another Pole, reserve Zibi Suchecki, was ruled out for the season last month with a broken thigh.
"It happened in Karol's second ride. He was leading and just entering the straight to go across the line when he fell off," said Poole promoter Matt Ford.
"I'm told it was a big crash. Davey Watt was in the same race and was just behind Karol when it happened.
"We're waiting for more details from Karol about his injuries. That's all I know at the moment."
Ford admitted he was contemplating bringing in a new face for Zabik as well as Suchecki.
"I'll just hang on to see what happens with Karol to see if we need to make two changes rather than one," he said.
"With the averages changing and Freddie going above Karol it will not be long before we are struggling to replace Karol because he will drop to reserve."
