Swiderski - In-form reserve Fotospeedway.pl
Swindon consolidated their place at the summit of the Sky Sports Elite League with a surprisingly comfortable win over Lakeside, whilst Eastbourne missed the chance to move into second place as they lost at Ipswich.
The Robins would have anticipated a stern test at The Abbey Stadium - but instead they swept to victory limiting The Hammers to just two heat wins.
As ever, GP rider Leigh Adams was in sublime form with a paid-maximum - but star of the night was fellow Aussie Troy Batchelor who roared to an unbeaten 15-point maximum.
Mads Korneliussen also claimed 11 for The Robins who appear to be going from strength to strength this season.
Lakeside just could not get on top of things but there were solid displays throughout their line-up with the highlight being Joonas Kylmakorpi 9+2 from reserve.
Captain Adam Shields grabbed 8, Leigh Lanham scored 7+2 but number one Andreas Jonsson will have been disappointed with his failure to grab a heat win as he claimed 7+1.
A solid Ipswich display saw them run-out 52-41 victors over Eastbourne at Foxhall.
With rider-replacement at number one Ipswich coped very well and having Pole Piotr Swiderski dropping to reserve could prove a huge bonus for them.
Swiderski showed his capabilities with 10+2 whilst fellow reserve Chris Schramm also excelled with his 8+2 from four rides.
Robert Miskowiak (11) and Jarek Hampel (10+1) were in fine fettle in the main body, as was Aussie veteran Steve Johnston (8+1).
Eastbourne battled hard with number one Scott Nicholls doing well at his former club with 15+1 which included a late tactical win.
Lewis Bridger also shone with double figures (10+1) and Ed Kennett provided 7+1 but there was little else The Eagles could offer.
Indeed Eastbourne's reserves scored just 4+1 in stark contrast to Ipswich's who contributed 18+4.
See what has got the Sky Sports experts' tongues wagging over a busy seven days in sport.
