Peterborough Panthers have signed rising Australian star Ty Proctor as their new number eight.

Proctor has impressed hugely in his debut season with Premier League Redcar Bears and now The Panthers have added him to their squad at number eight - replacing James Cockle.

"I am really pleased we have signed Ty to be our number eight," team Manager Trevor Swales told the club's website.

"He is a young very exciting prospect and I was very impressed with him when he rode for us at Ipswich recently, I think the track at Peterborough he will suit him and his style and I expect him to do very well.

"He is one of the best up and coming Australian youngsters at this current time."
