Crump: New track record
Jason Crump's memorable weekend ended on a sour note as his Belle Vue side were defeated 56-37 by Eastbourne Eagles.
Having been crowned the British GP champion on Saturday, the Australian could have been forgiven for being hungover after the success.
However Crump produced a superb display for the Aces, picking up 15 points and setting a new track record from his four races, but his team-mates were unable to provide any kind of support.
Crump snipped 0.1seconds off his own record at Arlington to set a new low of 54.8 - with the Aussie the only rider to break the 55-second barrier at the track.
But Crump's efforts were in vain as Eastbourne won the other 11 heats - with Scott Nicholls (12+1) and Edward Kennett (10) leading the way.
Reserve James Brundle also impressed for the Eagles, particularly following his battle with Aces' Charlie Gjedde in heat 12.
