Coventry recorded their first win in seven Elite League outings with a 52-41 result against Swindon at a wet Brandon Stadium on Friday night.
Led by 16 points from Chris Harris, the Bees managed to overturn a major deficit to end their long losing run and lift themselves off the foot of the table.
Swindon looked set to record an away success when they led 21-9 after five heats on a miserable night that saw rain fall for most of the meeting.
However, a tactical ride victory for Harris in heat six helped the home side turn the tables on their opponents and by heat nine they had forged ahead.
Young reserve Ben Barker recorded a crucial victory in the seventh race on his way to an impressive paid 15 haul.
He also followed home Grand Prix star Harris in the final heat of the night as Coventry rounded off a fine performance with an emphatic 5-1 result.
The only disappointment on the night for the reigning champions was a crash in heat four that meant Andreas Messing was unable to race for the rest of the evening due to a leg injury.
Leigh Adams finished with 11 points for the Robins, while Mads Korneliussen contributed 10+1 in a losing cause.
See what has got the Sky Sports experts' tongues wagging over a busy seven days in sport.
