Swindon Robins have confirmed that Seb Alden will miss the remainder of the season.
The Swedish youngster has suffered a broken heel and will not ride in the Elite League again this year.
'This is terrible luck for Seb who had been enjoying a very good season," team manager Alun Rossiter said.
"He'd shown great improvement in 2008 and impressed everyone with his commitment to the club."
Meanwhile, the club have also confirmed that Joel Parsons is the club's new number eight after Cory Gathercole was ruled out for six weeks.
"The injury to Cory Gathercole meant we we're vulnerable as a team without a designated number eight rider," said Swindon co-owner Gary Patchett.
"Whilst we are actively seeking replacements for Seb Alden it is good to know we can rely on Joel, rather than calling on guest replacements.
"This gives the club added stability during the late July, early August schedule and we're confident Joel will perform well when called upon."
