Coventry Bees have confirmed the capture of Czech starlet Filip Sitera.

The 20-year-old is very highly-rated and Coventry have beaten a number of rival Elite League clubs in persuading him to sign.

Sitera is the Czech Under-21 international and looks set to come in at reserve with Andreas Messing the most likely to drop out - although it is not yet confirmed what the new riding order will be.

Sitera will line up for his Elite League debut against Peterborough on August 7th.

"We met up with Filip the night before the World Cup, although at that stage we were aware there were other clubs interested in him," said Bees supremo Allen Trump.

"We were fairly optimistic, and then he came up to us after that meeting and said straight away that he wanted to sign - we did the deal in about ten minutes. He's an exciting young rider and we're pleased he's joining us."

Sitera's arrival could very well signal a merry-go-round of transfers in the Elite League with Coventry also closely linked with a swoop for Hans Andersen.

The Dane, who has fallen out with Peterborough, is said to be interesting Coventry - who would need to dump one of their current team members in order to fit him in.

Reports claim that Ipswich will take Rory Schlein from The Bees - replacing the injured Chris Louis, which would then leave The Panthers needing a new number one with Pole Krys Kasprzak strongly linked with a switch to the East of England Showground.
