Coventry Bees have confirmed that they have agreed terms with Hans Andersen.
Andersen has been in dispute with Peterborough Panthers over unpaid wages and declared earlier this week he would be leaving them once his 14-riding ban was finished.
Now after gaining permission from Peterborough to talk with the Danish superstar - Coventry have wasted little time in striking a deal.
The two clubs are now discussing the potential deal, whether it be a loan deal or a full transfer.
"I'd love to have Hans in our team, and I really hope this comes off," said Coventry owner Allen Trump - who has himself also finalised a deal to buy Premier League Mildenhall this week.
"He's a good gater, he's aggressive and I'm sure he would do an excellent job for us."
Coventry will need to re-jig their side to make room for the Dane, but they cannot confirm who will be released from their side until Andersen's capture is finalised.
Speculation has suggested that either Rory Schlein or Simon Stead would step down - with both already linked with a possible move to Ipswich to replace the injured Chris Louis.
Peterborough would also need to find a new number one and Polish star Krzysztof Kasprzak is being strongly linked with a switch to the East of England Showground, whilst a return of former star Ryan Sullivan may also be an option.
If Andersen's move does come off then he may indeed make his Coventry debut at Peterborough next week.
