Lakeside Hammers have moved to within a point of Poole Pirates at the top of the Sky Sports Elite League.
The Hammers swept to a 51-42 success at Ipswich on Thursday evening, although there was an element of luck involved.
The Witches were forced to track new number eight Jan Graversen of Premier League Mildenhall at number three, as their main man Jarek Hampel missed his flight from Poland and could not make it to England.
Without Hampel, Ipswich were always up against it and that is how it proved as Lakeside powered to victory despite the brilliant efforts of Piotr Swiderski.
Swiderski claimed 18+1, but only Robert Miskowiak (8+1) and Tobias Kroner (7+1) could provide any meaningful support.
Lakeside were solid throughout with captain Adam Shields claiming 13, but the top-scorer was reserve Ricky Kling who grabbed an excellent 13+1.
The three points for the away win now means Lakeside are very much in touching distance of Poole at the top.
Lakeside's win made sure they stayed above of Swindon - who clinched a 49-44 victory over Peterborough.
The Robins were again led home by their captain fantastic Leigh Adams, who registered his 100th maximum in Swindon colours as he claimed paid 12 from four rides.
James Wright also produced a fine display with 11+1, from five rides, with Mads Korneliussen (9+2) and Travis McGowan (7+1) also scoring well.
Peterborough had Kenneth Bjerre in fine form with 12 whilst guests Rory Schlein (11) and Ryan Fisher (7) performed well - but there was little else in terms of support on offer for The Panthers.
See what has got the Sky Sports experts' tongues wagging over a busy seven days in sport.
