Swindon bounced back from their defeat against Sky Sports Elite League leaders Poole in spectacular fashion as they inflicted Lakeside's first home loss of the season.

The Robins, who move equal in second with Lakeside, claimed a 49-41 victory with Leigh Adams and Croatian starlet Jurica Pavlic both picking up maximums.

In the process of collecting his 17+1 haul, Adams became Swindon's leading points scorer of all time - but the night will be remembered for only one thing, Pavlic's awesome 21-point maximum.

Swindon utilised their new reserve to great affect, letting him take his maximum seven rides and he went through the card claiming victories in each heat.

Lakeside had number one Andreas Jonsson back in the side but he could not win a heat and had to settle for just eight points - although both Jonas Davidsson (12+1) and Kauko Niemenen (10+2) scored well.

But The Hammers could not live with Adams and Pavlic - who between them almost matched Lakeside's score.

Indeed from Swindon's line-up only James Wright managed another heat success - but with their leading men that is all the Wiltshire club required.

The match actually could have been drawn had Lakeside claimed a 5-1 in the final heat, but there was no beating Pavlic and Adams.

Swindon - who are only behind Lakeside on points difference in second, are now eight points clear of fourth placed Eastbourne Eagles, who lost 52-41 at Coventry.

Coventry win

The Bees - who will have new signings Hans Andersen and Filip Sitera available to them from next week - proved too strong for Eastbourne with what proved a very good team effort.

Chris Harris (11) was the only home rider to hit double figures but there was good support from Billy Janniro (8+2), Simon Stead (9), Olly Allen (7+1), Ben Barker (7+1) and particularly the departing Rory Schlein - who signed off with 8+3.

Eastbourne number one Scott Nicholls was in superb form on his return to Brandon as he claimed an 18-point maximum, which included a tactical win - but only Lee Richardson (7) could provide any real back-up.
