Lakeside Hammers have moved level with Sky Sports Elite League leaders Poole Pirates after 53-40 victory over Wolverhampton.

The Hammers came up short at Peterborough earlier in the week but there was little danger of them not beating basement club Wolves at the Arena-Essex Raceway.

Hammers were without injured captain Adam Shields but number one Andreas Jonsson led them home in fine form with 16.

Coventry - who are no longer in the Play-off picture - romped to a comfortable 59-36 win over Peterborough.

The Panthers were never going to provide major opposition with lower-league guest Kozza Smith coming in for number one Ryan Sullivan - who has previous riding commitments in Russia.

Chris Harris (14+1), Hans Andersen (13+2) and Olly Allen (10+2) all romped to paid maximums whilst English prospect Ben Barker romped to a brilliant 13+2.

One negative aspect for Coventry was losing Simon Stead to a broken-collarbone.

Bees boss Peter Oakes said: "It was a win tinged with sadness - I can't remember a season when we've lost so many riders during a meeting."

Daniel King (15) and Kenneth Bjerre (10) both provided some more than decent resistance for the visiting Panthers.
