Title chasing Lakeside have confirmed they are desperately looking to make at least one new signing after losing both Adam Shields and Jonas Davidsson to serious injuries.
Davidsson crashed in Sweden earlier this week and news has come through from Scandinavia that he has punctured a lung, broken ribs and sustained other internal injuries.
Whilst Lakeside were counting the cost of Davisson's injuries - captain Shields a went down in a big crash at Peterborough - suffering back, lung and rib injuries , similar to his Swedish team-mate.
With Finn Joonas Kylmakorpi already sidelined - Lakeside are now facing a crisis.
Number eight Kauko Nieminen will now almost certainly be deployed in the main body of the team for the rest of the season - but that still leaves them short.
"This is more than an injury crisis, it's a full-on drama. We've started talks with a couple of riders and we won't let this season slide away," admitted worried promoter Jon Cook.
Lakeside went level with leaders Poole at the top of the Sky Sports League on Friday.
