Jonsson: Maximum for Lakeside (Pic credit Les Aubrey)
Lakeside Hammers moved to within four points of leaders Poole in the Sky Sports Elite League after sealing victory at Ipswich.
The injury hit Hammers again bolstered their side with two guests plus rider-replacement, but they still managed to grab a 48-44 win at Foxhall.
Ipswich were without Polish stars Jarek Hampel and Robert Miskowiak and that proved their undoing on the night.
Number one Piotr Swiderski did his best with 16 whilst Australians Steve Johnston (12+1) and Rory Schlein (11+2) also showed up well - but it was not enough.
As well as their two guests, Tomas Topinka and Ed Kennett - Lakeside brought their official number eight Kauko Nieminen into their line-up and he proved the key-man in the whole meeting as he claimed 16+1.
The Hammers also had number one Andreas Jonsson in superb form as he roared his way to a perfect 15-point maximum.
Lakeside were not just four points off Poole, whilst they also have two meetings in hand on the South Coast giants.
See what has got the Sky Sports experts' tongues wagging over a busy seven days in sport.
