Coventry climbed out of the bottom two with a dramatic final heat Elite League victory over Eastbourne on Saturday night.
Hans Andersen (16) and Chris Harris (10), the only two Bees regulars taking part, claimed a Heat 15 maximum to edge out the Eagles 47-46 to bag the three points that lifts them above Peterborough in the table.
Coventry assets Rory Schlein (9) and Ryan Fisher made contributions for their parent club, the latter combining with teenager Joe Haines for a 5-1 in the second heat, but it was the hosts who stretched into the lead by halfway.
Eastbourne led by 10 points after Harris crashed out in Heat 10 - the hosts taking a 5-1 - but it meant Anderson could take a double-point tactical ride in the next and it worked in their favour.
Harris dusted himself off to follow the Dane home for an 8-1, but the lead was still five points with two heats remaining after Anderson could only chase home Scott Nicholls (13) with Ed Kennett (8) third in the 13th.
But Fisher completed an up-and-down meeting with a tremendous victory in the penultimate heat, and with Ben Barker claiming a point it came down to the finale.
And it was Harris and Anderson who got the drop on Nicholls from the tapes, and the Brit could not find a way past his two Grand Prix rivals as the Bees came away with a thrilling success.
See what has got the Sky Sports experts' tongues wagging over a busy seven days in sport.
