Lakeside Hammers have confirmed that they have agreed a new signing ahead of the Elite League Grand Final.
The Hammers, who host Poole Pirates in the first leg of the final on Monday, live on Sky Sports 2, have confirmed the departure of Czech reserve Lubos Tomicek.
Tomicek has informed the Essex-based outfit that he was worried about his recent head injury, whilst he also wanted to ride in the Czech Golden Helmet on Sunday.
As a result Lakeside had no option but to drop him - but they have moved quickly to fill the void.
The club have already seen their new recruit declared 1-7 approved by the BSPA but they are now awaiting approval from the riders' federation before they can reveal the rider in question.
Team boss Jon Cook also confirmed that injury victim Jonas Davidsson would be fit to return for the final.
"The last thing we needed this week was to make further changes to the team buts thats the way the season has gone," Cook told the club's website.
"I am hoping everything will fall into place [on Friday] but we do have a back up plan if a signing has to be delayed until the second leg and Craven Final.
"I can confirm, however, that Jonas Davidsson will ride on Monday subject to his weekend meetings taking place."
