Russian star Emil Sajfutdinov has confirmed his billing as the best young rider in the world after reclaiming the World Under-21 crown.

Sajfutdinov took victory in Pardubice, Czech Republic on Sunday - edging out Australia's Chris Holder and Croatian Jurica Pavlic.

Going into the final set of races, Holder was level with Sajfutdinov - the pair met in heat 19 - and it was the Russian who eased to victory to seal the title.

Holder and Pavlic were level in second on 12 points, two adrift of Sajfutdinov, but the Aussie claimed the runner-up spot after a run-off.

The British contingent endured a miserable evening with all three failing to trouble the top-end of the field.

Lewis Bridger top-scored with six, whilst William Lawson claimed four.

British Under-21 champion Tai Woffinden was excluded for a tapes offence early on an never recovered as he ended with just three points.
