Woffinden: Wolves deal
I want to give the Elite League a try and I'm sure Wolverhampton will keep their place for me to race for them next year.
Tai Woffinden
Quotes of the week
Wolverhampton have confirmed that teen sensation Tai Woffinden will be in their 2009 line-up.
The 18-year-old, who rode for Great Britain in the World Team Cup this year, was snapped up by Wolves supremo Chris van Straaten two years ago.
Speculation has been rife about his destination in 2009, having spent the previous campaigns honing his prodigious talent in the Premier League with Rye House.
Elite League champions Poole had been strongly linked in recent days, whilst it was also claimed he may remain in the second-tier of British speedway - but he has now confirmed he will be with Wolves.
However, Woffinden's decision is dependant on Wolves maintaining their place in the Elite League as they are embroiled in the relegation race-off - although they are fully expected to take their place in the top-flight next term.
"It's always been my intention to make the step up and a full-time move to Wolverhampton has been what I've been looking to do because the timing feels right," said Woffinden.
"I want to give the Elite League a try and I'm sure Wolverhampton will keep a place for me to race for them next year.
"It's a good club with a good fan base, great track and a management team which is respected throughout the sport.
"This is the next logical step for me in my career."
See what has got the Sky Sports experts' tongues wagging over a busy seven days in sport.

Tai will be a good addition to a wolves team whose lower part of the team was too weak for too long. If we can keep freddie and get niels k iverson and lewis bridger then on paper it looks a lot stronger,. Ludvig lindgren should do a tai and hone his skills in premier but should be number 8 so wolves can monitor his progress. the futures bright. the futures orange. come on u wolves (speedway only )

Im Sure Tai will make his mark on the elite league a quality young Talent. If Wolves dont stay in the elite league then he must still make the move up. Lakeside would be a great place but thats just wishful thinking

I think Tai will do well at Wolverhampton,if they can get Joe Haines to sign also the Wolves will be a lot stronger at the bottom end, providing they stay in the elite league.

I feel this is just what Tai needs he has proved already this year that he is good enough to beat Elite League riders and it will only help further his career. Lets hope he makes the same impact as Chris Holder has!

I agree. (with Steve Hilliard) Tai will undoubtably do very well in the Elite League, as he showed when ge guest rode for the Panthers.
