Eastbourne promoter Bob Dugard is resigned to Ed Kennett's move to Coventry being decided by arbitration.

Dugard was left furious with Kennett, who asked for a transfer over the winter, and he agreed a deal with the rival club.

However, Kennett is desperate to seal a move to Brandon and now the SCB - will decide on the fee that Coventry will need to pay for the British star after the Bees asked for arbitration.

"Coventry have reduced their offer to £15,000 which I see as a bargaining tactic by them before going to arbitration," said Dugard.

"They are experts in these matters whereas I have never been to arbitration over a rider, but I'll go in there and give it my best."

Coventry boss Colin Pratt insisted that Kennett must be allowed to move where he wants, as he confirmed the rider had agreed terms.

"I've got to send off a letter to the SCB setting out the position and requesting the hearing, having waited 28 days as I previously explained," said Pratt.

"We've been through this procedure before, most recently with Scott Nicholls, and although we don't know when exactly when it will take place, Edward has agreed to ride for us and we're pleased he's coming here."
