Leicester Lions are set to return to British speedway after a planning application for a new stadium was approved.

It has been nearly 30-years since speedway was seen in Leicester.

But now a new project has been given the go-ahead in the Beaumont Leys area of the city.

And now a new side will be launched and could be included in next year's Premier League.

New teams are not allowed to apply directly for Elite League membership.
