Sky Sports Elite League pacesetters Swindon Robins and Wolverhampton Wolves both sped to convincing victories on Monday evening.

League leaders Swindon recorded a 55-40 triumph over Poole Pirates but the Wolves remain just one point adrift after a 56-36 success at home to Peterborough Panthers.

Leigh Adams set the tone for the Robins in the very first heat, slashing his own two-year track record by a full second to propel his side to the perfect start.

The Pirates had to wait nine heats before registering a winner, the reliable Chris Holder collecting six points to give the visitors a glimmer of hope.

Things got even better for Poole when rookie Leon Madsen snuck past Adams in the following heat, however that was as good as it got for the eighth-placed Pirates who have now finished their away fixtures.

At Ladbroke Stadium, Tai Woffinden (14+1) was on top form as the Wolves maintained their title charge at the expense of Peterborough.

Kenneth Bjerre (10) starred for the visitors who remain in fifth-place following the defeat.

Honours were even as Coventry Bees drew 45-45 with Eastbourne.

Chris Harris raced to four victories from five races for a 14-point haul for the Bees, while Ben Barker recovered from a crash in heat 12 for 13+1 points.

Lewis Bridger led the scoring for Eastbourne with 11+1, while Simon Gustafsson and Lukas Dryml won two races apiece.
