Belle Vue Aces are in talks with Manchester City Council over a new £6million stadium.
The Aces have been at their current Kirkmanshulme Lane, since 1988 - following the closure of their previous home at Hyde Road.
Belle Vue are now looking into moving less than a mile from their current location to a purpose built 7,000 capacity arena in Gorton.
Aces management would not confirm they any details, but admitted talks had taken place.
"The only thing I will confirm is that we have been in discussions with Manchester City Council for some time," Belle Vue chief David Gordon told the Manchester Evening News.
"We have discussed various options. That is the only comment I can make at this moment in time."

A move to a purpose built stadium must be good news. I have been an Aces fan since 1947 and loved Hyde Rd, with that in mind I have to wonder if the lesson has been learned concerning F1 Stock cars. In next to no time they ripped the track up, right down to the concrete base. This must not happen again.

Having been a keen Aces supporter since the Hyde Road days,i am very excited at the prospect of Speedway returning to a purpose built stadium once again. The current track has always been very second rate, with its tight circuit and very poor stadium facilities, which have brought about falling gate attendances. This new move could hopefully bring about a resurgence to the Aces fortunes, both on and off the track. Let's hope the move becomes finalised very soon.

This exciting venture has got to happen. It will be fantastic for British Speedway and Manchester businesses. I urge every speedway fan around Britain to help Belle Vue make this venture a reality

If Belle-Vue do manage a new stadium it can only be good for the club. If they can have a track like Hyde Road then all the better. Their present track is too small for such a big famous club. Good luck Aces.

This is fantastic news for Belle Vue and for British Speedway. A 21st century stadium and a big 340m track will be like a return to the glory days of Hyde road
