Ronyon: Appeal rejected (Pic credit David Valentine)
Peterborough Panthers have been told they cannot use British starlet Adam Roynon as their doubling up riders for next season.
The Panthers, won of the favourites for next season's Sky Sports Elite League, were looking to use Royon alongside Klaus Jacobsen at number 7.
But after lodging an appeal with the British Speedway Promoters Association, they were told he could not ride in a doubling up capacity.
Roynon missed the whole of last season because of a serious head and neck injuries received in pre-season during a Great Britain training camp.
Because Roynon missed the whole of last term, he does not possess the necessary Premier League average needed for doubling-up.
Peterborough are loathed to miss out on one of Britain's most highly-rated talents and reports suggest they could not try and convince Roynon to switch full-time rather than just doubling up.
"I am very disappointed with the decision and I will fight against it to try and get it overturned," said Roynon.
"I have got a good team behind me and they will be working behind the scenes to get the decision reversed."
Peterborough are yet to make an official comment, following the BPSA's decision.
