Ostergaard: Back at Peterborough (Pic credit Ian Charles)
Peterborough Panthers have announced that Ulrich Ostergaard has re-signed for the club.
The Danish ace returns to the East of England Showground, after two-seasons away, filling the void left by the injury to Karol Zabik.
The Pole was declared unfit to take his place in the Panthers' 2010 line-up last week, which left Peterborough looking for a new face.
They have now recalled Ostergaard - who is a club asset, and was part of the 2006 title winning side.
The club also confirmed that previous number eight Linus Eklof would now be stepping up to replace Adam Roynon as a double-up reserve, after the Workington youngster was deemed ineligible.
Taking over Eklof's role as number eight, will be Scunthorpe's Joel Parsons.
"We looked at several options, including bringing in another new face but it was impossible to conclude anything because of conflicting commitments overseas," team boss Trevor Swales told the club's website.
"Ulrich was always in the frame, even during the winter, and he has the ability to score points away from the Showground which was a primary consideration.
"It also helps bringing in Joel, he looked very sharp in practice, has got himself brand new machinery and has a decent Elite League record."
