Lindgren: Maximum (Pic credit Les Aubrey)
Elite League champions Wolverhampton Wolves claimed the first silverware of the new season after easing to victory over Lakeside Hammers in the Elite Shield.
After a comfortable 62-34 victory at Monmore Green in the first-leg, Wolves were always first favourites.
But they made no mistake at Purfleet as they claimed a 50-40 away success.
Lakeside could not cope with Wolves' excellent gating and could not keep pace with the 2009 champions.
Again number one Freddie Lindgren was in imperious form as he claimed his second successive maximum with a brilliant 15-point haul.
New Grand Prix star Tai Woffinden provided excellent back-up with paid 11, along with Nicolai Klindt (8+1) and Joe Screen (8).
Lakeside had little reply with none of their side hitting double figures. Top-scorer was Krzysztof Kasprzak, who claimed nine points.
See what has got the Sky Sports experts' tongues wagging over a busy seven days in sport.
