Sky Sports Elite League leaders Poole Pirates have guaranteed a play-off place after victory over Swindon Robins.

However, Poole were pushed hard by Swindon at Wimborne Road and indeed nobody has got as close to the Pirates as The Robins.

Poole had number one Chris Holder to thank for the win as he was in brilliant form with a perfect 15-point maximum - indeed for the first time this year only one home rider hit double figures, but youngsters Artur Mroczka (9+1) and Darcy Ward (8+2) provided excellent back-up.

For Swindon, who still harbour hopes of making the play-offs, had Leigh Adams top-scoring with 12 whilst Pole Greg Zengota did well with paid 11.

The win for Poole now means they cannot finish outside of the top-four, whilst Swindon remain in sixth, 11 points adrift but with four meetings in hand.
