Watt: Poole skipper
Poole Pirates have moved to within just a point of sealing top-spot in the Sky Sports Elite League after victory over second-placed Wolverhampton.
Wolves still held out faint hopes of over-turning the sizeable gap, but instead Poole took maximum spoils as they maintained their 100 per cent record at Wimborne Road.
The Black Country side pushed hard, but they came up short as Poole just had too much for them.
Captain Davey Watt led the home side's scoring with 12, and he was the only Pirate to hit double figures, but Bjarne Pedersen (9+1), Chris Holder (8+2) and Leon Madsen (8+1) all contributing well.
Freddie Lindgren again led the scoring charts for Wolves with 12, whilst Dane Nicolai Klindt hit 10.
Poole can now clinch top-spot as they meet Poole again in the return fixture at Monmore Green.
See what has got the Sky Sports experts' tongues wagging over a busy seven days in sport.
