Richardson: Top-scored
Lakeside moved into third and boosted their play-off hopes with a 49-41 win over reigning champions Wolverhampton.
Wolves, who are clear in second and all but guaranteed a spot in the top-four, pushed Lakeside hard - but The Hammers managed to clinch maximum points.
The hero for the home side was Lee Richardson, who romped his way to a brilliant 15-point maximum.
Finnish ace Kauko Nieminen (11+1) also scored well as The Hammers showed they could still be a force to be reckoned with this season.
Wolves had GP ace Tai Woffinden (12) in good form whilst club legend Peter Karlsson guested for them and claimed ten points.
Lakeside's win takes them into third, above Peterborough Panthers - who were well beaten by Coventry Bees, who still have slim hopes of making the play-offs.
Coventry produced a great team effort with Krzysztof Kasprzak led them home with 11, but there were plenty of fine scores through the side with Ed Kennett (10+1), Ben Barker (9+4), Richard Sweetman (9+2) and Lewis Bridger (9+1) all producing excellent scores.
Peterborough were essentially a two-man team with Rory Schlein (16) and Kenneth Bjerre (10) hitting almost all their points between them
The win means Coventry remain in sixth, six points adrift of Peterborough.
