Greg Hancock won the delayed Croatian Grand Prix in Gorican on Sunday as Jason Crump closed the gap in the overall standings.

Veteran Hancock pipped British rider Chris Harris in a thrilling final to claim the 11th GP victory of his career and first of the 2010 campaign.

Although it was only the second time in seven rides that he had not finished first, Harris could at least console himself with a 21-point haul for his efforts.

Ironically it had been Hancock who the Coventry Bees rider had passed to clinch his one and only previous Grand Prix win, in Cardiff three years ago.

Crump charging

Reigning champion Crump finished behind the pair in third to claim 17 points, an impressive haul in comparison to the two men he trails in the standings.

Current leader Tomsz Gollob paid the price for a sluggish start to the meeting as he added only 10 to his total, though that tally was two more than his nearest rival, Jaroslaw Hampel.

The duo's struggles in the race, which had been postponed on Saturday evening due to bad weather, allowed Crump to close the gap.

The Australian is still in third place but now sits a mere three points behind Hampel and a further seven adrift of Gollob with three rounds to go.
