Thornton: Facing Dobromyslova
Women's world darts champion Anastasia Dobromyslova has been practising with Phil Taylor ahead of her intriguing first round clash at the UK Open against former BDO number one Robert Thornton.
The best the PDC has to offer, along with 32 Holsten Qualifiers, will do battle in 'The FA Cup of darts' at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton.
Thursday's first round sees a number of big names taking part, but one of the most eagerly-anticipated contests will involved the world ladies champion.
The Russian battled her way through the qualifiers and has been drawn against one of the PDC's newest recruits Thornton.
The Scot was ranked number one in the BDO before he joined the PDC, and after he also qualified he has been given the tricky task of facing the best ladies darts player in the world.
Dobromyslova has been preparing in the best way possible though, practising with 13-time world champion and the best ever to step on the oche Taylor.
With increased attention on her game, and playing on live TV to cope with, Dobromyslova has had the perfect guide in 'The Power'.
"I'm looking forward to the challenge," said Dobromyslova. "Practising with Phil has been a great experience and it can only benefit my game.
"I was more nervous in the qualifiers and it's more excitement now about proving to a wider audience how I can perform.
"It's great to be able to play on TV so soon after winning the World Championship and I'll be proud to represent the women's game at the highest level.
"I've had a bust couple of weeks with all the publicity but I've been practising hard this week concentrating on the event."
