Phil Taylor continued his imperious Dublin form with a comprehensive 3-0 whitewash of Colin Osborne to set-up a quarter-final with comeback kid Andy Hamilton at the World Grand Prix.

Taylor won every leg on offer when beating Osborne while Hamilton came storming back for 2-0 down to beat Robert Thornton 3-2 and set-up an all-Stoke affair in the last eight.

Tarry Jenkins looked in great touch as he only dropped a leg when beating Mark Walsh 3-0, and he now plays world champion John Part in the quarters after he defeated local hero Jacko Barry 3-0.

Taylor missed the double to start with his first six darts against Osborne but still took the opening leg - and the following eight without reply from 'The Wizard' to storm into the last eight.

Looking for an eight World Grand Prix title, 'The Power' averaged over a hundred and again hit two-thirds of a nine-darter during his victory.

Whitewash

"I wasn't thinking of the whitewash, you just go out there on stage and try to get off there as quickly as you can," Taylord told Sky Sports after the match.

"It's not nice to beat a fellow professional 3-,0 3-0, 3-0 - but if you can do that you've got to, and I'm sure that Colin would do the same to me.

"So in one way I'm pleased I got through but I'm disappointed for Colin because he's a better player than that.

"Before January I couldn't win a game, and all the jackals were out saying they hoped they played me next round - they're not saying that now though."

Andy Hamilton came from two sets down to stun former BDO world number one Robert Thornton 3-2 to earn his first quarter-final in the tournament.

Thornton had the worst start seen to a leg so far in the double-in tournament this week, needing 16 darts to start the second leg of the match.

However, the Scot recovered and a Shanghai 120 finish saw him take the lead, which he quickly doubled with five legs in a row helping him into a 2-0 lead.

'The Hammer' fought back though, and fired by six 180s the world number eight hit his best form to dominate from then on in and took six of the next seven legs to level at 2-2.

That record became nine out of 11 legs won as he took the decider 3-1 to set-up his all-Stoke encounter with the dominant Taylor.

Local hero

Dublin lorry driver Jacko Barry had his moments against world champion John Part, but the Canadian ruthlessly punished the Irishman's missed doubles.

After losing the first set Barry went 2-0 up in the second and had darts to take it, but he left the door open for 'Darth Maple' to power through to take it.

"It was always giong to be hard with the Irish crowd here all behind Jacko," said Part. "But in no way did it affect my game."

Terry Jenkins booked his place in the last eight in convincing style with a 3-0 victory over Mark Walsh in the opening match of the night.

It looked a tight contest on paper and Walsh hit a fine 115 outshot to win the opening leg to signal his intentions.

However, that proved to be the only leg he would win in the match as Jenkins took the following nine with an impressive 92 average including a 121 checkout to cruise through.

"I have been playing really good darts on the floor but people have just been playing that little bit better than me," Jenkins said.

"I was focused on my game tonight and just stared at the board instead of playing up to the crowd and that worked for me."
