Phil Taylor is on course to retain his German Darts Championship title.
The 13-time world champion progressed into the quarter-final at the Gerry Weber Centre in Halle without dropping a set.
Kevin Wensink, Robert Thornton and Jelle Klaasen were the Grand Slam of Darts winner's victims as he moved into the last 16.
He then hit six 180s and averaged 113.94 in victory over 'The Artist' Kevin Painter to set up a quarter-final meeting with Wayne Jones.
Jones came through against Wayne Mardle and then Alan Tabern, throwing a 14-darter in the deciding leg as he reached the quarter-finals.
Last year's runner-up Denis Ovens knocked out world number two Raymond van Barneveld 3-1 on his route to the last eight and he will now take on Andy Hamilton for a place in the semi-final.
Stoke's Hamilton defeated Adrian Gray and Colin Lloyd to book his spot in the quarters.
Reigning world Champion John Part beat Peter Manley 3-1 meanwhile and he will now take on Mark Dudbridge, who knocked out Grand Slam of Darts finalist Terry Jenkins 3-2.
Finally, Steve Hine overcame Alex Roy, Adrian Lewis and Dennis Priestley en route to the last eight, where he will face Holland's Co Stompe - a 3-1 winner over fellow countryman Vincent van der Voort in the fourth round.
