Vainikolo: Five-try debut
Lesley Vainikolo has praised his new Gloucester team-mates after scoring five tries in his rugby union debut against Leeds.
Vainikolo made a high-profile switch from rugby league having scored 149 tries in 152 matches for Bradford Bulls.
And he instantly made his mark on the Guinness Premiership with a record five-try debut in the 49-24 victory at Headingley.
However, despite having Dominic Chapman's record of 17 tries in a Premiership season in his sights, Vainikolo is refusing to set any targets for himself - choosing to focus on the team instead.
"I'm not setting any targets at the moment - it's too early - and like I always say, I do all my talking on the pitch," said Vainikolo.
"I came from a faster game in league but union is also getting faster so I'm getting used to it already.
"It's always good to have that ratio but I'm just concentrating on getting the Gloucester team going because it's not a one-man game.
"It's a team game and we want to be scoring tries throughout the team.
"The forwards - the likes of (Andy) Hazell, (Jonathan) Pendlebury and Luke (Narraway) - also played really well against Leeds and that's what helped us to get the victory."
